People all over have their own philosophies of life. These ideologies they form may be influenced by others or......may be not. Well today’s youth are supposedly more mature, more tolerant, open minded owing to the higher amount of exposure to knowledge. Well in spite of this exposure some people prefer to stick to stereotypes that they might have formed owing to societal views on a certain subject. For example let us look at the use of marijuana, although so many facts are readily available on the net and from myriad other sources, people still look at marijuana users as drug addicts, people who are sick who need urgent help. Well guess what, much to their dismay there’s no such thing as a marijuana rehab. No matter how exposed or rational people claim they are today they are smitten by stereotypes, some due to ignorance, others out of choice. "Then why have they banned it " is probably the 1st question that you’d get, counter that and "but still.......its bad for you" is probably what follows. The logic is simple he’s obviously a user and quite obviously he would defend himself. True, but not all users are fools just smitten by the hoopla, some are into vices out of choice. Well let’s take another example we make claims about being open minded and say boldly prostitution should be legalised for whatever reasons. But would any one of us be supportive had a friend or family member taken this up as a career, wouldn’t we bitch about them behind their backs ......or..... may be treat them as social outcasts? I sure would. The problem is most people flinch at the very thought of change, yes man is repulsive to change be it Change in ideas, change in lifestyle or any change that he considers uncomfortable but hey change is part of evolution. They say stagnation is the 1st sign of death and yet we love stagnating...living in our own lil comfort zones. Imagine what the world would be like had we not evolved...yeah we'd be rubbing sticks for hours to start a fire. I call this the irony of life. History shows us that man is the most adaptable creature, that’s exactly why he is found on every corner of this damn planet and yet he resists change. I guess hypocrisy is just a part of human nature but identifying, accepting and atoning is really one of the few things that can help make this world a slightly better place, what say?
